Viessmann Vitodens 200-W system and combination boiler

The choice of the technician

This is one of Viessmann’s flagship models. Known as the ‘technicians choice’ we feel this is a very well-engineered boiler that is, in our opinion, the most efficient gas boiler on the market today.

With a 5 year parts and labour warranty which can be increased to 10 years and a variety of control options, the 200-W is by far the best choice for most boiler replacements, upgrades and new installations, particularly for larger detached and semi-detached homes.

One of the main features of this model is the automatic combustion controller Lambda Pro Control, which offers consistently high efficiency even with varied composition changes which can be common in gas.

It’s also one of (if not the only) boiler on the market today that has an incredibly low modulation in terms of how low the boiler can run i.e. the 200W 35kw boiler has a maximum output of 35Kw but can run a low as 1.8Kw.

This makes the boiler incredibly efficient. In a nutshell when the house reaches temperature, the boiler is able to run a very low output allowing the boiler to top up the heat. Imagine going down a motorway at 70mph, once you reach it you will ease off the throttle and maintain speed.

It’s the same with modulation; once the boiler reaches the temperature it needs to be at to warm your radiators it backs off the ‘throttle’ using less gas. No conversion kit is required to run this boiler on natural gas or LPG. It also has a colour touchscreen and is smart home ready, which means it can be controlled remotely via an optional app.
