Why choose a Viessmann boiler?
If you are looking for a new gas boiler for your heating and hot water, you may feel there is a bewildering choice of products on the market.
Price may well be a factor which affects your decision but beware of false economy – a cheap boiler costs more to run and will need replacing earlier.
At Clarity Heating, one of our recommended boiler manufacturers is Viessmann as our engineers believe they produce some of the most reliable and efficient boilers on the market, with a clear advantage when it comes to smart home technology and power consumption. They can also be wired up to your existing systems.
Our top choices of boiler models for homes from the Viessman range
Viessmann Vitodens 050-W
The entry level boiler in the Viessmann range is the Vitodens 050-W combination only boiler. Perfect for those on a budget it is ideally suited for flats, apartments and small homes, whether new build or modernisations.
The Vitodens 050-W offers good value for money and comes with a free upgrade from three years to seven years on your parts and labour warranty if supplied and installed by Clarity. You could also continue to use your existing controls (or replace them if you wish) if you have a volt free option.
If you need to replace your old and unreliable wall mounted combination boiler this could be the option for you. The Vitodens 050-W boiler comes in either natural gas or LPG fuel options (conversion kit required).

Viessmann Vitodens 100-W open vent condensing boiler
This boiler, which comes with a 5 year parts and labour warranty, with a free upgrade to 10 years when supplied and installed by Clarity. It is also ideal for customers on a budget, who are looking for a “straight swap” to replace their old open vented, wall hung or floor standing boiler. The Vitodens 100-W boiler comes in either natural gas or LPG fuel options (conversion kit required).
Existing controls can connect to the boiler, as this is the only open vent boiler currently on the market that doesn’t need a permanent live power supply to it. It is ideal for updating older boilers, saving the need to spend extra money, and which generally makes this installation quite straight forward.
If your existing controls do need updating because they are not up to current regulation standard or simply do not work properly, replacing them is also a simple process. This durable and efficient model is also a very compact size from just 285mm depth, which makes it ideal to fit in a standard kitchen cupboard or where space is limited.
Viessmann Vitodens 100-W system and combination boiler
This is the most popular model in their range and is ideal for smaller, well insulated homes. Available in both natural gas and LPG, (conversion kit required) and coming with a 5 year parts and labour warranty as standard, with a free upgrade to 10 years when supplied and installed by Clarity.
Known for their quality and durability, these boilers, just like others in their range, are renowned for reliability and longevity and are ideal for small to medium sized households.

Viessmann Vitodens 200-W system and combination boiler
This is one of Viessmann’s flagship models. Known as the ‘technicians choice’ we feel this is a very well-engineered boiler that is, in our opinion, the most efficient gas boiler on the market today.
With a 5 year parts and labour warranty which can be increased to 10 years and a variety of control options, the 200-W is by far the best choice for most boiler replacements, upgrades and new installations, particularly for larger detached and semi-detached homes. One of the main features of this model is the automatic combustion controller Lambda Pro Control, which offers consistently high efficiency even with varied composition changes which can be common in gas.
It’s also one of (if not the only) boiler on the market today that has an incredibly low modulation in terms of how low the boiler can run i.e. the 200W 35kw boiler has a maximum output of 35Kw but can run a low as 1.8Kw.
This makes the boiler incredibly efficient. In a nutshell when the house reaches temperature, the boiler is able to run a very low output allowing the boiler to top up the heat. Imagine going down a motorway at 70mph, once you reach it you will ease off the throttle and maintain speed.
It’s the same with modulation; once the boiler reaches the temperature it needs to be at to warm your radiators it backs off the ‘throttle’ using less gas. No conversion kit is required to run this boiler on natural gas or LPG. It also has a colour touchscreen and is smart home ready, which means it can be controlled remotely via an optional app.
